Vizcaya Museum and Gardens self-guided tour book.

Completed in 1916, Vizcaya was the winter residence of industrialist James Deering. Designed and built to look like a home that had been in a family over four centuries, it contains one of the finest collections of 16th through 19th century decorative arts. Today the house and gardens are open to the public. I was retained to write a guide to aid visitors on a self-guided tour through more than 45 rooms and spaces in the vast estate.

"The tour of Vizcaya begins the way it began for Mr. Deering's guests when they arrived by automobile. They would drive through the native hardwood hammock to the Entrance Plaza and down the drive bordered by water cascades and fountains."
